Lady in Waiting

from From the Woodwork by The Radium Girls

lyrics

VERSE 1
I saw her standing in the cold,
I saw her shiver, so I offered her my coat,
But she said she had her own.

She won't ever say she's broke,
Though her interests are outright bought and sold,
And she's long since lost control...

CHORUS
Is this all she'll ever know?
Is this all she'll ever know?
Is this all she'll ever know?
Is this all she'll ever know?

VERSE 2:
She's still young, but she looks old,
Like one who's harmed herself more than she could know,
But she's still got room to grow.

So I stood with her to wait,
But the gesture seemed so little and so late,
And the forecast calls for rain...

CHORUS
Is this all she'll ever know?
Is this all she'll ever know?
Is this all she'll ever know?
Is this all she'll ever know?

BRIDGE
Oh god is there any way to help?
But she screams at me to go to hell,
Oh god is there any way to help?
Anything but watching her destroy herself...

OUTRO
She's fallen victim to the years,
Nobody asking if she's clean behind her ears,
Did they forget they left her here?

The Radium Girls Boston, Massachusetts

We played all over Rochester and released a demo in 2008, but we craved more - and with lots of coffee, we finished our debut album 'From the Woodwork'. We graduated in 2011 and moved to Boston, so we can make it big like Bon Jovi. ... more
